Upcoming social events – mark your calendars:

• Fri Jan 30 (and every Friday) – Family Fun Skate – the rink is open!
• Sun Feb 15th – Winterfest – 2-5pm
• Fri Feb 20th – Pub Night – Family Skating and hot dogs – 5pm

Details:

• Pub Nights are the third Friday of the month at the hall – 10139 – 87 Avenue.   February’s pub night will start early (5pm), and we’ll serve hot dogs.  Bring the kids (or not) and have a hot dog and a beer, and go for a skate if you like.  Come around 8 if you want to miss most of the kids.
• The annual Winterfest will be on Sunday, Feb 15th.  We will have the usual carnival games, burgers, and sleigh-rides, as well as our Cook-off competition.  We’ll be looking for dessert entries again this year, with a special category for pies.  Lots of great prizes to be had!  We always need volunteers to give us a hand, so let us know if you can help out.
• Family Fun Skate is every Friday from 3:30 – 9 (subject to weather/ice conditions).  Everyone is welcome; no sticks/pucks.  Hot chocolate and cookies are provided until 6.  On Feb 20th the Fun Skate is combined with Pub Night – so come up to the lounge and have a hot dog, and a beer, wine or pop and visit with others.
• A membership is required to skate on the rink.  You can purchase one on-line at www.efcl.org (there will be a $2 service fee), or contact Lois (439-5774) or Jeanie (433-0521), or membership@strathconacommunity.ca.
