Come join us for a fun hour of socialization, fun & fresh air at the Strathcona Community League. We are offering a six week Funball session for kids 2-4 years old. Come kick the ball around, meet some new friends, burn off some energy & get a t-shirt.

We highly encourage parent volunteers and need them to run this program so be prepared to step in and lend a hand. Berna Ponich will be teaching two weeks of art classes/camps this summer at the Strathcona Community League for kids ages 6 and up. Each week will be different so register for one or both sessions.

Instructor: Berna Ponich of Artagogo has been teaching art to kids for over 36 years. She studied Fine Arts at what was then called the Alberta College of Art, in Calgary, and then returned to Edmonton where she received a Bachelor of Education with a major in Fine Art education from the University of Alberta. “I love teaching now as much as I did when I started, if not more, and teaching art is the best job. I have met hundreds and hundreds of kids and have felt honoured every time a parent has entrusted me with their child’s art education.”

Free Swimming and Rec Centre Use – Commonwealth Pool

Strathcona Centre Community League members have Free Community Swim and Fitness Centre access at Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre during specific hours on both Saturdays and Sundays:

Saturdays
3 pm – 5 pm
(From September 20, 2025 to June 27, 2026)

1 pm – 3 pm
(From September 21, 2025 to June 28, 2026)

The Recreation Centre has a 4-lane fitness pool, leisure salt water pool with spray features, water slide, aquatic climbing wall, whirlpool and steam room. Community league members may use the pools as well as the fitness centre during the booked time.

For free admission, swimmers need to show their current SCCL Membership Card.

Without a coordinator, this beloved program will not run this spring. 

Do you know any 2 or 3 year-olds who like to run around?
Would they also like to kick a soccer ball?

If so, please consider volunteering as the FunBall Coordinator or Co-Coordinator for the 2026 Soccer season this spring. We will not be able to run the program this May without a Coordinator.

Join the EMSA’s Outdoor Community Soccer Program – registration is open!

The Edmonton Minor Soccer Association (EMSA) South is the perfect place to be for youths ages 4 to 19. Whether you’re looking to just have fun or want to play competitively, they offer a wide range of programs to fit your unique skills and interests.
