Found Festival is Edmonton’s celebration of art in unexpected places, with performances taking place all over Strathcona (and beyond!) from July 9-12!

Join the Alberta New Democrats in the heart of Old Strathcona for the 2026 Art Walk Pancake Breakfast! Visit alongside MLAs for a free pancake breakfast, games, and more, in the heart of Edmonton Strathcona. It will be a great start to your day as you visit the artists who will be showing their work on and around Whyte Avenue. 

Everyone is welcome—bring your family, friends, and neighbors to take part in the fun and festivities!

Neighbourhood in Bloom is Back!

Volunteers will be choosing their favourite front yards across Edmonton! Gardens that are beautiful, creative, meticulous, colourful, shade friendly, feature edibles and natives, pollinator friendly, good use of space, or those that simply make a passer-by say “Wow!”.

We have a limited number of signs to display so know that although there are many gardens in our neighbourhood that deserve recognition, only some will be highlighted!

Bike Parking Regulations Survey!

The Zoning Bylaw Team is conducting a review of the Bike Parking regulations within Zoning Bylaw 20001. Currently the project team is researching how bike parking facilities are used and perceived by Edmontonians. Research results will help the Zoning Bylaw team to determine the extent to which the regulations may or may not need to be adjusted.

– determine how many bike parking spaces are required for new developments: residential buildings, commercial shopping centres, community spaces, transit centres, health care facilities, etc.
– address how much space each parking stall requires,how bikes are stored and how these facilities are accessed.

The survey runs from June 22 to July 20, 2026.

Councillor Michael Janz is seeking feedback from Ward papastew residents regarding ongoing neighborhood impacts from EPCOR’s Mill Creek Trunk Rehabilitation Project.

According to EPCOR, this main artery handles wastewater for over 58,000 connections across south Edmonton. This infrastructure project involves constructing an upsized, 2.1m diameter sewer trunk tunnel 20 to 30 meters beneath 97 Street to redirect flow. 

Our office has received complaints from residents regarding odours and property impacts. This survey aims to map the geographic scope of these issues and assess their impacts across Ward papastew neighbourhoods, including Ritchie, King Edward Park, Bonnie Doon, and East Strathcona / Mill Creek. This will allow us to work with EPCOR to resolve these issues.

To clearly understand the impacts of this project, we need to determine the specific area these issues are occurring.
