Community Notification | Fringe Festival 2017

The Fringe Theatre Adventures Society is ecstatic to be building on the energy and success of last

year’s festival and are committed to cultivating and nurturing the ongoing relationship between

the Strathcona Community, its residents, businesses, neighbors and visitors. The following

notification is provided to inform and connect. We hope that you are able to come be a part of

the magic and Fringe with us!

Festival Dates

Thursday, August 17 to Sunday, August 27, 2017 (11 Days)

 

Festival Times

Outdoors Festival Site

including all outdoor stages, busking pitches, food vendors and artisans

August 18 – 26 from 1100 to 23:00 hrs

August 17 from 18:00 to 23:00 hrs

August 27 from 11:00 to 20:00 hrs

Indoor Festival Venues

41 venues presenting over 220 shows located throughout Edmonton

Indoor shows are scheduled between 11:00 hrs with the last performances to start at 23:59 hrs or

earlier. The maximum length of show at the Fringe is 90 mins.

 

KidsFringe

August 18 – 23 from 10:00 – 18:00 hrs

August 24 & 25 from 10:00 – 20:00 hrs

August 26 & 27 from 10:00 – 18:00 hrs

 

Roadway Disruptions

Saturday, August 12 to Wednesday, August 30, 2017

  • Full closure of 104 Street Service Lane from 82 to 86 Avenue
  • Full closure of 83 Avenue from Calgary Trail to Gateway Boulevard including the bike lane and sidewalks.
  • Full closure of 84 Avenue from Calgary Trail to Arts Barns including Service Alley.

Monday, August 14 to Wednesday, August 30, 2017

  • Single northbound lane closure on the west side of 103 Street (Gateway Boulevard) from 82 to 86 Avenue
  • Full closure of 85 Avenue from Calgary Trail to alley.
  • Service alley north of 85 closed up until Youth Emergency Shelter Fence.

Thursday, August 17 to Sunday, August 27, 2017

  • Please note that travel delays are anticipated along Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail given higher pedestrian traffic. A volunteer supported temporary pedestrian crossing is available on Gateway Boulevard and 85 Avenue during the festivals hours.
