Solar Production

Have you looked at the roof of the Strathcona Centre Community Hall recently?! Thanks in part to a generous grant from the Alberta Municipal Solar Program, we are now equipped with a solar photovoltaic system, which will produce approximately 35,000 kilowatt hours of electricity, offsetting all of the Hall’s annual electricity consumption. This system will reduce the Hall’s greenhouse gas footprint by approximately 20 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, and help reduce operating costs for the Community League.

The solar project is part of SCCL’s ongoing efforts to make the Hall more sustainable and energy efficient. If you are passionate about sustainability and have other ideas for projects in our community, contact green@strathconacommunity.ca.
