Ice on Whyte returns to Strathcona

The Ice on Whyte festival returns to Strathcona Centre January 23, 2015. The Strathcona Centre Community League is pleased to be partnering with the festival again in 2015, welcoming the international ice carving competition, nightly entertainment, and winter fun to our neighbourhood.

WHEN is the Ice on Whyte festival?

January 23 to February 1, 2015
Weekdays: 2 pm to 10 pm, Weekends 10 am to 10 pm

WHERE does Ice on Whyte take place?
End of Steel Park, Strathcona Park, and Strathcona Centre Community League (See map below)

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT LOCAL RESIDENTS?
Tommy Banks Way will be closed to traffic and pedestrians from 6 am on January 19 and remain closed till 6 pm on February 6, 2015.
The festival area will be fenced from January 19 to February 6. This area is indicated by a red line on the map posted below.

WHERE IS THE ALTERNATE WALKING PATHWAY?
Follow the “Walk with Wally” signage. It will lead you along the sidewalk on 87 Avenue
through the Strathcona Centre Community League grounds to Tommy Banks Way.

WHEN WILL THE LIVE BREAKFAST TELEVISION BROADCAST TAKE PLACE?
On Thursday, January 22 between 5:30 am and 9 am.
Please note that no amplified sound will be broadcast till 8 am.

Communication points are set up for the neighbourhood and are monitored by Ice on Whyte and the Strathcona Centre Community League
