The Sustainable Development Department invites you to attend 2 public meetings this month:
- Varscona Theatre Rezoning
Date: Thursday, June 12th, 2014

The purpose of this meeting is to provide information and receive comment on the proposed rezoning of the Varscona Theatre site to accommodate Varscona Theatre’s plans of redevelopment and expansion of their current operation. The proposed rezoning is designed to ensure that the development is architecturally sensitive to the historic character of the area. Sustainable Development Department is in early stages of reviewing this application and is gathering input from the general public as well as other City departments.
- Rezoning of the old ESSO Gas Station

The purpose of this meeting is to provide information and receive comment on the proposed rezoning of the of the old ESSO Gas Station site on Whyte Avenue and 105th Street to provide the opportunity for a 6 storey mixed use development. The proposed rezoning is designed to ensure that the development is architecturally sensitive to the historic character of the area while facilitating viable redevelopment of a formerly contaminated site. Sustainable Development Department is in early stages of reviewing this application and is gathering input from the general public as well as other City departments.
