Residential Infill Working Group
Better Infill Practices for Better Communities |
Thank you to everyone who completed the Neighbours of Infill Survey. We have not forgotten our commitment to keeping you updated. Over 200 people completed the survey; this is an excellent response and we are now busy analyzing the results. City Council and Survey Update You may recall that Residential Infill Working Group volunteers presented to the Urban Planning Committee of Edmonton City Council, on April 23, 2019. We asked Council to ensure the City protects neighbours of infill from property damage and safety hazards. In response, Council Committee directed the City Administration to work with us to explore solutions and report back. Since then, we have met with City Administration several times, studied relevant laws, policies and procedures, and conducted the Neighbours of Infill Survey. We are now analyzing the survey results which will be shared with you as soon as the report is completed. The survey report will be a key piece of information when we present our recommendations in January 2021. Please join us at the meeting with City Council and talk about your personal experience, or contact your Councillor prior to the meeting. While the survey report will shed light on the breadth and magnitude of construction issues for neighbours, your story will provide a deeper understanding of the impacts on individuals and communities. Dates and times will be send by email and posted to our Facebook page. Please consider joining us in advocating for better infill construction practices for better communities.
