When is the Ice on Whyte Festival?
January 25 to 29 and February 2 to 5, 2017

Where does Ice on Whyte Festival take place?
End of Steel Park, Strathcona Community League Tennis Courts and a portion of Tommy Banks Way
When is the Festival onsite?
Site set up begins January 2, 2017 with event take down complete on February 10, 2017
How will this affect local residents?
Parkland & Walkways:
January 2 to February 10, 2017
• End of Steel Park and its diagonal pathway will be closed
January 2 to 18 and February 9 – 10, 2017:
• Follow the “Chainsaw Wally” pedestrian signage. The sidewalks on the east side of Tommy Banks Way will be open to pedestrians and maintained for your safety.
January 18 to February 8, 2017:
• Follow the “Chainsaw Wally” pedestrian signage. It will lead you from either 87 Avenue or from Tommy Banks Way & Gateway Blvd intersection along maintained pathways through the Old Strathcona Community League grounds to your destination.
Road Closure:
January 19 to February 8, 2017
• Tommy Banks Way from the intersection of Gateway Blvd to 87 Avenue will be closed.

Parking:
January 16 to January 19, 2017
• There will be No Parking on Tommy Banks Way between Gateway Blvd and 87 Avenue given blading and the lead into the roadway closure.
January 25 to 29 and February 2 to 5, 2017
• A no parking area will be created on the north side of 85 Avenue between Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail to improve pedestrian and vehicle safety
January 25 to February 5, 2017
• The Festival will provide residents only parking signage within a 2 block radius of the Strathcona Community League to deter festival patron from parkin in the area.
• The Festival has arranged for complimentary festival patron parking at the Strathcona Farmers Market parking lot. The complimentary parking is promoted through the festival’s website and social media platforms.
• The Strathcona Community League parking lot will remain open to parkland and community league users
Sound:
January 2 to February 9, 2017
• The Festival is committed to containing their impacts however the operational set-up, festival execution and operational take down will produce sound.
General Community Considerations:
• In lead up, during and preceding the Festival there will be operational activities and equipment in the neighbourhood. Please watch out for each other.
• The Festival has modified its lighting, electrical, and amplified programming placement in consideration of the residents to reduce light and sound impacts.
• The Festival and city will be monitoring End of Steel Park through to the spring addressing any festival debris uncovered by the thaw.
