Reminder: Neighbourhood Renewal Final Design

Come out to the Arts Barns on Tuesday night to get the first look at how neighbourhood renewal will change Strathcona. The first of three years of construction will begin this year, replacing all road surfaces, sidewalks and streetlights throughout the community. There will also be new trees on 86 Avenue, new bike infrastructure, park and public space updates, traffic calming and a 30 km/h posted speed limit.

Open House Details:

When: Tuesday, February 5, 2019

Where: ATB Financial Arts Barns, 10330 84 Avenue

Drop-In Format: 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

The open house will provide neighbours a chance to provide feedback on how the design has evolved since last year. Property owners will also be able to learn about the sidewalk improvement program.

The new streetlights will be fully paid for by the City of Edmonton, as an Expression of Interestin the fall did not include a majority of support for upgraded heritage design.

Stay tuned for another event in March, where you’ll be able to learn the details about construction.

If you’d like to see the history of the City’s public engagement on this project, see our neighbourhood’s dedicated renewal page. You can also find the December 2018 updateat that City of Edmonton website. On February 5, the same materials available at the open house will be online too.
