Vacancy | Hall/Rental Manager – Strathcona Community League

We are looking for someone with effective client service and organization skills who wants to work in our community!  Your flexibility and independence will assist you in working with the public while also liaising with the Board, as well as some part time staff.  Our current hall manager will still be working with us in a related capacity and can assist you in transitioning to this new position.

Duties include all aspects of renting the spaces in the hall:  answering emails and phone calls, showing the hall to prospective renters, completing paperwork and arranging payment, and inspecting the space after rentals.  You will work with custodial and grounds staff, and will be required to do some light cleaning. You will also be responsible for liaising with our security company and responding to calls.

Other duties include drafting procedures, tracking hall related information, processing payments and refunds.  Supervising the building during skating and playground hours may be required.

You will report to the Board through the President, but will work as a team with custodial and grounds staff, and various Board members.  You will help to supervise a summer student.

Hours are somewhat flexible, but you must be available to meet renters as required, and to keep the building open during skating time in the winter, and soccer and playground time in the summer.

Hours of Work: 24 to 28 hours per week, some evenings and weekends required

Wage:   $20/hr, plus 4% vacation pay

Qualifications:  You should have several years of experience in a client service setting that includes administration.  Supervisory/team lead and book-keeping experience is an asset.
