Strathcona Rail Community Garden nominated Favourite Community Garden

Sustainable Food Edmonton (“SFE”) is a local not-for-profit that initiates and supports projects and programs to encourage the building of community through urban agriculture. Each year SFE organises the Golden Wheel Barrow Awards. A contest created by SFE which recognizes businesses and individuals that are making the City of Edmonton (“YEG”) a better place through environmentally sustainable practices. There are five categories, including favourite: (1) environmentally conscious small business, (2) ‘locavore’ restaurant, (3) agricultural business, (4) community garden, and (5) ‘sustainability citizen’.

Today we received the surprising news that our Strathcona Rail Community Garden is nominated for Golden Wheel Barrow in the category favourite community garden.
