AGM update: Secretary needed
With our AGM fast-approaching on Monday, November 9, we’re going to highlight a few of the board positions open for election for anyone who may be interested in volunteering. First up is the position of secretary.
The secretary takes minutes of board meetings. The most important aspect of this is noting the motions that the board votes on.
Secretary is a great position for someone who is interested in being on the board but doesn’t have a lot of board experience, or is looking to get involved and not yet sure what other committees they could be interested in. It’s also a good position if you like taking notes!
At the AGM November 9 we’ll be looking to appoint someone to a 1-year term as secretary. Board positions are normally for two-years but our current secretary has recently resigned to become our treasurer leaving the position open mid-term.

The Strathcona Centre Community League is holding its annual general meeting (AGM) on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 8pm at the Strathcona Community Hall (10139 87 Avenue).
The following positions are open for election or appointment on Monday, November 9:
Secretary (1-year appointment)
Communications Director
Social Director
Building and Grounds Director
Green Initiatives Director
Programs (1-year appointment)
Safety (1-year appointment) – We are interested in converting this to a new role looking at community-wide events like Ice on Whyte and the Pride Festival and neighbour involvement and feedback
The following positions are also open for election, though we do have current board members putting their names forward for a new term:
