AGM update: Volunteers needed
With our AGM fast-approaching on Monday, November 9, we’re going to highlight board positions open for election for anyone who may be interested in volunteering. This post will cover positions we don’t have a current or returning board member and have regular activities and programming that require some volunteer help.
Secretary (1-year appointment) – this position is great for someone looking to join a board, the member is responsible for taking minutes (notes) of board meetings
Communications Director – this position oversees our website, social media, newsletter, and league communications
Social Director – this is a good position for someone who likes to throw a party! We currently have two major events each year and monthly pub nights that are the responsibility of the social committee
Programs (1-year appointment) – this position is responsible for programming primarily for children, including a playgroup that meets at the hall and City of Edmonton programs
Safety (1-year appointment) – We are interested in converting this to a new role looking at community-wide events like Ice on Whyte and the Pride Festival and neighbour involvement and feedback.
The Strathcona Centre Community League is holding its annual general meeting (AGM) on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 8pm at the Strathcona Community Hall (10139 87 Avenue).
