Annual Arts BBQ Sun Sept 7th
Annual Pot Luck BBQ Featuring Local Authors and Craftspeople
Sunday September 7th (3pm to 7pm)
at the hall (10139 – 87 Avenue)
Once again Strathcona Community League is hosting an annual potluck BBQ outside the hall (we’ll move it inside if it’s raining). The Community League provides burgers/dogs/veggie dogs and drinks, and you provide a pot luck dish to share (bring your own cutlery and plate too). It’s a great way to chat with old friends and meet some new ones. A Jumpy Castle will be available again this year. Local authors, poets, artists, craftspeople and entertainers will be featured.
This year we will also be celebrating the new hockey rink murals (installation done in June), originally conceived by the students of King Edward School and completed by local mural artist Carveor Triggs. The murals were done to commemorate the Strathcona/Edmonton amalgamation 100th anniversary.
- Calling local artists, authors and craftspeople! we are still looking for artists, authors and craftspeople to sell or show their work – we welcome amateurs and professionals, kids and adults. Contact Ellen Homola at 433-3856 or ehomola@hotmail.com.
- Volunteers needed! We need your help to run this event. If you can spare a bit of time to set up, clean up or supervise the bouncy castle, contact Jeanie at social@strathconacommunity.ca or 433-0521.
