The City of Edmonton is working on a concept planning study for 106 Street and 76 Avenue. The vision is to transform 106 Street and 76 Avenue into walkable, bikeable, liveable public spaces that connect people. Members of your Strathcona Centre Community League board are involved and support this vision.

The engagement pilot, called Engage 106-76, is different than other engagement initiatives in that it is community-led, in partnership with the City. To be successful, we need the help of residents in the area – in both big and little ways. To get involved in the project, sign up as a Community Partner today to show your support and get involved in the process!

How will this project affect Strathcona residents?

Queen Alexandra is currently undergoing renewal, and construction on 106 Street and 76 Avenue will take place in 2017. How those roads are reconstructed will be guided by the concept planning study associated with the Engage 106-76 project. If you want to help make 106 Street and 76 Avenue more walkable, bikeable, liveable, this is the time to do it.

Why is this important now?

The timeline for public engagement is short in order to meet construction deadlines already set for neighbourhood renewal in Queen Alexandra. Once you sign up as a Community Partner you’ll be invited to join the conversation in a variety of ways between now and November. The City will then develop a concept plan based on the feedback received.
