Cosmo Spring Sundays & Jazz Night

Spring Sundays: April 13
CMS Wednesday Band and Beginner Bands perform a variety of traditional and contemporary pieces from around the world that will be sure to entertain and stir your emotions! CMS is excited to welcome special guests, Hello Cello, who will perform two sets of cello ensemble music for the delight of all who attend!

Spring Sundays: April 27
CMS Chorus and Reverberations Handbells join together for an afternoon of moving and exciting repertoire that highlights the talents and unique sounds of the human voice and English handbells. You will hear songs from Canada and the British Isles, Oscar Galian’s Saleso, Art Maddox’s Kumquatrain Express, Andrew Balfour’s Ambe, and a collection of songs from Liverpool’s Fab Four: The Beatles! The Reverberations, under the baton of Tammy-Jo Mortensen will “Go the Distance” (from Hercules), perhaps into “Pan’s Forest” (Edmonton composer Dorothy Kelker), or maybe we’ll take a train ride (Chattanooga Choo Choo), or a ship (Pirates of the Caribbean) or maybe we’ll just relax in nature (Introspection), by former Edmonton, now BC composer John Hooper) and celebrate spring (Now the Green Blade Rises and also All Creatures of Our God and King).

Thursday Night Jazz: April 24
It’s time to party with the CMS Jazz Big Band and Cosmopolitones! Join the CMS jazzers in an evening of toe-tapping favourites from swing, to latin, to funk!
