Join Da Camera singers for a special concert celebrating International Women’s Day, inspired by the much-loved “Chorister’s Songbook” series. This performance features music inspired by and chosen to honour the women in their lives. Da Camera singers will share their personal stories and favorite musical selections, creating an intimate and moving experience. Their voices will be raised for the women who shaped them, with songs that carry memory, gratitude and strength. 

The program includes a world premiere.  “She is There” is a new work by Laura Hawley with text by Jannie Edwards, an Edmonton writer and poet. The piece honours and celebrates the life and legacy of three remarkable, determined women whose legacies live on.

For this concert there will be displays in the lobby. Donations through ticket sales will be directed toward “Sing for Life” an Edmonton-based non-profit society that offers opportunities for participation in the arts to people who do not normally have access to such programming, including the Edmonton Institution for Women.
