Summer is starting! To celebrate, Friends of Scona Rec is partnering with RiverCity Rec to throw a party at Scona Pool.

Come learn about some new ways to support a new recreation facility for Rollie Miles Park.

Update on Rollie Miles Rec Centre

City Council reviewed Capital Budget requests on June 4.
Funding is tight at present.
The motion to provide funding to design a rec centre at Rollie Miles Park was deferred to the fall 2019 Capital Budget review.
Many residents and community leagues in the area wrote to City Council in support of the project.
On June 6 Queen Alexandra Community League spoke to Council about the need for the rec centre at the Public Hearing on the 3 new towers proposed at 80th Ave and 105th St (currently the South Scona parking lot).
There will be another opportunity to provide input to City Council
in the fall about the importance of planning a new rec facility at the park.
It will take about 2 years to design the facility.
There’s still time to design the facility before the next Capital Budget in 2022
