Hall and Grounds Renewal Committee – April 2023 Update
The Strathcona Centre Community League endeavours to grow in being welcoming, inclusive, sustainable and accessible with a hall and grounds that provide multi-functional spaces that the community feels invited to meaningfully utilize year-round.
The HGRC is currently in the Concept Phase for renewal of the Grounds and they would like your input!
Proposed:
This Grounds Renewal entails relocating the rink from its current location on the south lawn to within the footprint of the existing tennis courts. The sport courts (tennis, pickle ball and ball hockey) will be retained within the footprint of the new rink, thereby utilizing the tennis courts/ rink area year-round.
Once the rink is moved from its current location, we will improve the gathering and recreational amenities on the south lawn. This would include redeveloping the grassy area by adding year-round seating and patio area, and a green space.
These changes are based on feedback we heard from many of our community members, both through informal feedback and a formal Needs Assessment carried out in 2020/2021.

Community Input is important to us. Please complete this SURVEY to have your voice heard.
Part of the Concept Phase involves sourcing quotes for the proposed work and we would like to give local and indigenous-owned companies a chance to bid this work.
