Kids’ Christmas Shoppe at the Old Strathcona Antique Mall

For Kids aged 3 – 12

The Way It Works:

• Guardians register their 3- to 12-year-old children onsite with the Stephen Lewis Foundation GANG (Grandmothers of Alberta for a New Generation) and the kids are assigned a one-on-one shopper/grandmother.  
• The grandmother and child walk amongst the gifts (priced $5 to $20 – most are $5) and select ones appropriate for the folks on the child’s list. 
• Once complete, the child goes to the “checkout” with the grandmother and pays cash (no GST) for the items. 
• After that, the child visits the grandmother “wrappers” who assist the child in wrapping their gifts and tagging them. 
• When they are done, the child is delivered back to the registration desk where their guardians are telephoned to collect their child. For the adults, the Edmonton Grandmothers will be selling their jams, preserves and baking in a separate area and all of the vendors at the mall will also have great products to choose from.
