Mill Creek Tree Risk Management Strategy
As part of the City of Edmonton’s Parks and Road Services’ Natural Area Operations tree risk management strategy, they will be conducting tree risk mitigation work during the week of September 26th to October 14th in the Mill Creek Ravine North neighbourhood.
Trees in range of the trail were assessed for tree risk. As a result of this assessment, approximately 70 trees will be removed, pruned or habitated to reduce the level of risk to the public. In addition, a number of trees will be removed from the floodplain areas of Mill Creek to reduce flooding of the creek in the spring.
If citizens have any questions or concerns, they can call 311 and refer to ‘tree risk management in Mill Creek’ and inquiries will be directed to Natural Area Operations to communicate with the citizen(s) directly.
