Pot Luck BBQ Sunday Sept 11 – 3:00 – 7:00
Once again Strathcona Community League is hosting an annual potluck BBQ outside the hall (we’ll move it inside if it’s raining). The Community League provides burgers/dogs/veggie dogs and drinks, and you provide a pot luck dish to share (bring your own cutlery and plate too).
At the BBQ:
- Book launch – Jan Olson’s ‘Scona Lives’ (see details below)
- Jumpy castle
- Local youth buskers (bring some coins!)
- Hands on art project – led by local Art Teacher Berna Ponich
- Face Painting
- Parachute games, Tug of War
- buy your membership (bring cash or a cheque – $20/family, $15/single, $5/senior)

Book launch:
Jan Olson, local resident and professor of Anthropology at the University of Alberta, will launch her new book at the BBQ. Scona Lives tells the story of central and east Scona from the perspective of those who have lived there. Who knows – one of your stories may just be inside!
Please come out, say hi, and get a special introductory price of $25.
