Tenant Empowerment Courses – City Of Edmonton
Tenant Empowerment Courses – City Of Edmonton
Approximately 1 in 4 renters in Edmonton pay more than they can afford on housing. An eviction can be a life-changing experience that can sometimes lead to homelessness.
Starting Thursday Sept 28, the City of Edmonton and its partners are offering free Tenant Empowerment Courses that can help you become a great tenant. It’s about building your knowledge and skills to help you find and keep your housing.
Staff from the City and Bissell Centre with expertise in residential tenancy legislation and financial empowerment will help you.
You will learn:
- Your rights and responsibilities as a tenant
- The responsibilities of your landlord
- How to make the most of your money and find savings
- How to maintain a safe home
- How to communicate effectively with your landlord
- How to navigate the application process
Refreshments will be provided. Free transit tickets are available upon request. If you require tickets in advance, please contact Jeannette Wright
