Celebrate 106 Street
106FEST is coming up! MAY 23 at 1:00 PM. Please join us in Queen Alexandra school playground at 106 Street and 76 Avenue to start off with some bicycle powered smoothies.
Joining us will be CBC morning show host Mark Connolly, Old Strathcona’s resident documentary film maker Niobe Thompson and hopefully a whole lot of KIDS to start off the tour of 106street! Neighbours from up and down 106 Street are invited to participate in the fun.
From the kick off point in Queen Alex, you can pick up your map and passport and start cycling or walking south to Empire Park passing through the communities of Pleasantview and Allendale to check out the library, some music and lots of other events. Or head North to Strathcona.
In Strathcona,
- stop for a free coffee/drink at the Second Cup on 106st at 82nd avenue
- be one of the first 30 families to come to the bike and helmet decorating station at Old Strathcona High school and receive a free water bottle from Hardcore Bikes or a shirt from Red Bike.
- find the balloon fairy on wheels
- get your face painted
- tour Edmonton’s oldest community garden and watch the street car pass by while enjoying a treat!
Enter to win at each of the ballot boxes located in each community. The more communities you visit the more times you can enter! The prizes include:
- $200 gift certificate from any business in Old Strathcona (provided by the OSBA)
- $50 gift certificate for Culina’s
- Family pass to ride the High Level Street Car
