Only two more days for the Pop-Up Play program (a part time Green Shack program without the shack); Outdoor Movie Sept 5th; Calling all local authors, artists and craftspeople – show and/or sell your work at the Sept 13^th BBQ (details below), and other Sept events.

Pop-Up Play program

• Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays, ending August 24, 2015
• Time: 2:30PM to 6:00PM
• Free program with games, sports, crafts, music, drama, and special events! Ages 5 and under must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

• Outdoor Movie Night – Ratatouille

Saturday, Sept 5th – 8pm – In the rink next to the hall

Bring a chair or a blanket and the whole family to watch Ratatouille on a giant inflatable screen!  A few snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own.  If the weather does not cooperate, we’ll move the fun inside.  A big thanks to Sara Kalke of RE/MAX River City for sponsoring this event

• Annual Pot Luck BBQ Featuring Local Authors and Craftspeople

Sunday September 13th (3pm to 7pm)

Once again Strathcona Community League is hosting an annual potluck BBQ outside the hall (we’ll move it inside if it’s raining).  The Community League provides burgers/dogs/veggie dogs and drinks, and you provide a pot luck dish to share (bring your own cutlery and plate too).  It’s a great way to chat with old friends and meet some new ones.  A Jumpy Castle will be available again this year. Local authors, poets, artists, craftspeople and entertainers will be featured.

• Pub Night – Membership night! 

Friday, September 25th   8pm- (note – this has been moved from the regularly scheduled 3rd Friday)

Come out and enjoy a beverage and a snack, chat with some neighbours, and buy your 2015-16 membership.  If you purchase a membership (or show your card if you have purchased one already) you will have a chance to win one of several prizes (Chianti’s Restaurant has generously donated gift certificates, win a selfie stick courtesy of McBain Camera, and more).  Starts at 8pm, draw at 10:30pm.
