SCCL | More sustainable and energy efficient

There is something new going up on the roof of the Strathcona Community Hall! Installers are busy putting a solar photovoltaic system on the roof, which will produce approximately 35,000 kilowatt hours of electricity, offsetting all of the hall’s annual electricity consumption. This system will reduce the hall’s greenhouse gas footprint by approximately 20 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, and help reduce operating costs for the Community League.

The solar project is part of SCCL’s ongoing efforts to make the hall more sustainable and energy efficient. If you are passionate about sustainability in our community, consider becoming our new Green Director. Elections for the Green Director and other board positions will be held at our AGM on November 8th. For more information, contact Kasia at green@strathconacommunity.ca
