Wind and Thunder at W.C. Tubby Bateman Park

Did you know that the hole in this massive stone sculpture (http://www.stonesculpture.ca/) represents the disappearance of the bison from this area? Or that the 13 rocks around the sculpture represent the 13 moons of the year?

The Strathcona Community League, in partnership with Park Adventures (parkadventures.ca), will be exploring the history of this beloved park and sharing it with surrounding school and community groups throughout June and July (in a Covid safe manner).

We will be engaging great storytellers to help us connect to the past and have received the Canada Summer Jobs grant to hire a student to bring it all together.

If you are interested in volunteering for the project or would like to apply for the student position (deadline May 15/21) please email Cheryl at liaison@strathconacommunity.ca.
